Lucky (true story, as usual)

Lucky (true story, as usual)

You live your hopeless darkest time.
You don’t give for your fate a dime.
You walk and talk but you’re a shadow'
Your home is your tears’ river meadow.
You have no hope your soul to ease,
Your heart is bleeding without cease,
You drink each day’s light bitter cup.
You hide your pain but don’t give up.

And when, one day, you'll finally find
That you’re alive but you are blind,
You'll start to care about the others,
You’ll see that Luck and Faith are brothers.
When choose to stay no more apart,
Few people will arrive and start
To laugh and jump and loudly scream:
“Hey, YOU, we have a dream!”
(your, sincerely,...)

Prietenie de lunga durata efect aces pe termen lung (Ce indragim ne aduce impreuna- poveste adevarata)/, Long time friendship, long term aces effect (Love brings togetherness- true story) /Дуго пријатељство, дугорочни aces ефекат (Љубав доноси заједништвo-истинитa причa)

https://vimeo.com/58291347 - tutorii voluntari/the tutors-volunteers

This is the story of a long time friendship.
And this is about how aces changes our lifes.
It is about children and it is about teachers. It is about schools and communities.
I must explain you that I am the employee of Special Middle School "Constantin Paunescu" Iasi but my professional task is to provide specialized educational services for challenged children that learn together with their healthy colleagues at School "Alecu Russo". Being involved into the educational activities of School "Alecu Russo", I received seven years ago the task to coordinate the activities included into the volunteering program National Strategy for Community Action. Some of the activities that we organized here in these years were implemented in partnership with my "mother-school"- "Constantin Paunescu".
In the spring of 2011, Academy of Central- European Schools launced the projects contest having the theme "Building bridges in societies - volunteer in your communities".
We saw that the topic was tailor-made for us and we applyed... and WE WON, together with our partner schools from Bulgaria and Macedonia! We implemented the project "Talents and abilities in the service of communities". Children from "Alecu Russo" enjoyed every moment of the project activities and they were so proud that their LOVE for volunteering brought their school among the members of aces network!
In the spring of 2012, came another call for aces contest... This time, I decided to compete for my "mother-school"- " Constantin Paunescu" , because I knew that the children and teachers deserve to be part of aces. Together with our Serbian partners, we succeeded !!!!
And it came the time of project activities. And we needed help. Because children from "Constantin Paunescu" need more attention than others and need to have more opportunities of being together with their healthy colleagues from other schools, because this is the real inclussion.
And I went to  get help from my old friends, tutors-volunteers from "Alecu Russo".
Did I get it?
When I told them that the voices of children from 'Paunescu" are too weak to be heard and they need someone to speak in their name, I found a strong voice that took over this task.
When I needed an "Orga- team" for the Circuit of champions" contest, I found an entire class, who participated with enthusiasm at the preparations and at the activity, although they were in a very difficult time of their school life, by having to prepare some important exams.
Now, I need them again, to help us to prepare the aces dance and... in only TWO HOURS,  four brave hearts prepared a video presentation with aces dance, that will be learned by the children from "Constantin Paunescu", to enable them to offer their own video to aces comunity.
Thank you, kids! Your generosity is the proof that we can have trust and hope for the future!
Because you are keeping the promise made at the aces Academy in 2012: "In the matter of volunteering, the best is yet to come!"
Because by keeping your promise you are the living proof of the long term impact of aces.
Because you don't cease to get involved with all the enthusiasm of your age, to demonstrate your skills and abilities and because you express your sorrow when activities come to the end. Because you love these activities -and love brings togetherness.
Because all the beautiful things that I described above happened thanks to a tear spotted in the eye of a child, one precious tear that I wiped once.

Radio Belgrade (emission Digital icons) - transcript and translation

On 18 December we released footage of our appearance in the emission "Digital Icons" on  Radio Belgrade 2 and the announcement of that emission where they mentioned our visit, our aces project and our blog. With our host, journalist from Radio Belgrade 2, Tamara Vucenovic, we  talked about our aces project "Media Voices 4 Special Teens," and our blog, so here's the recording again, transcript in Serbian  and  translation of that conversation in English.
Thanks, once again, to journalist Tamara Vucenovic for inviting us to be her guests in this emission and the recording she providedo us!

Tamara Vučenović: Digitalne ikone, profesorka Iva Urdarević, profesorka Škole za oštećene sluhom - nagluve "Stefan Dečanski". Dobar dan i dobro nam došli.
"Digital icons", Iva Urdarević, professor of the School for hearing impaired "Stefan Decanski". Good afternoon and welcome.

Iva Urdarević: Hvala na pozivu. Dobar dan.
Thanks for your invitation. Good afternoon.

We have agreed and we also announced it  in a previous issue of "Digital Icons" that we will  speak today about the awarded project "Media Voices for Special teens," and especially that part of the project  which is dealing with the new technologies and social media. Let's start from the beggining...

School has became a member of the Academy of Central European Schools or ACES this year, by participating at their competition for school projects. Together with the Special Middle School "Constantin Paunescu", from Romania, from Iasi,we have  written the project titled  "Media Voices for Special Teens," which aims to increase the visibility of children with disabilities in the media. Topic of the entire project cycle was "Reality check - how we perceive and construct the world through media," and  we have created a project in which we, in one part of the project with the children of our school have organized a creative workshop. In our school, the workshop was a week ago and we also had guests from the Electrotechnic school "Stari grad", so that the workshop was inclusive. Results are such that both groups of children were thrilled over the idea. So, through a variety of workshops: textile, carpentry, hairdressing, graphic and ceramics, students have shown that they can, even though handicapped,  to do and achieve a lot and to be creative and contributing members of society.
The second part of the project is the blog, "Media Voices for Special Teens," where the goal is to increase the visibility of children with special needs, and especially teenagers, in cyberspace. What is important is that this blog turned out, in the end, trilingual. At first we planned it  to be in English, however, now it is written in Serbian, English and Romanian. It monitors all activities related to the project, but also any other interesting facts from the life of the school. The sole aim of the blog is that it stays later, when the project is finished, as a mean of communication and a tool for these kids to show what they want in a media space.

Who creates these texts that can be read on the blog?

Iva Urdarević: Nastavnici i učenici.
Teachers and students. Some students are blog administrators at the school. This is, among others, Natasha Obrenovic, who was a delegate at the Aces Kick - Off Meeting, in Lasko, Slovenia. So she went to Slovenia, to the introductory activities, before the start of the project, where we were explained how to lead an international project. She is also the president of the Students' parliament. Now, there is even more interested students, they are opening accounts on gmail, so that they can actively participate in the whole story. Or we discuss and we agree what to put on the blog.
There were a lot of interesting events in the past week, as we celebrate 115 years of existence and work of our school, and there was also an Academy at the Union Home, seminar "I walk and I listen," and an inclusive volleyball match between pupils from  our school and high school "Sveti Sava", which is in our neighborhood, so we have a lot of content for the blog. It may also be, for example, their various interests, like when they danced Gangam style, and they put it on youtube and would like to put it on  the blog too.

What are, let's say, these first reactions and what are your first impressions on possibilities and what is the best way to  take advantage of the opportunities offered by blog and the Internet to be more visible?

Well, a blog has had , so far,  over 2000 visits, which is a pretty big number, considering that it exists from end of September.Simply said, through the blog and  facebook, because they share articles and other content on facebook, a lot of people can see what we are doing and what we want.In fact, they have the same desires as other teens, but they have additional challenges they face in the life: Essentially, their needs are the same as all other children.

Tamara Vučenović: A kakvi su njihovi komentari?
And what are their comments?

For example they wrote that it looks very nice, they are highly satisfied, very glad and happy and they  want to participate, they are motivated, they feel important, it helps them to raise their level of self-confidence, self-esteem ... even, for example, they began using Google translator themselves to translate texts into English.

Tamara Vučenović: Naravno. Divno.
Sure. Great. Perhaps, we should mention, of course, the anniversary of the school last week. The site is not new, it exists for some time and also you can use it for different purposes, in terms of presentation and promotion of what you are doing.

On, uglavnom, prati sve aktivnosti škole. On prati sve važne dogadjaje iz života škole i u njemu, takodje, učestvuju deca.
The site has been around for years,it is  updated regularly and should now be updated with details related to the project. It mainly monitors all aschool ctivities .Site is more informative, in fact, it is intended for parents and children who enroll in school. We have our school magazine called "Development". A new issue was published recently, on the School Day,  24 November. It keeps track of all the important events in the life of the school and it also involves children. Our fourth degree students, graphic design tehnicians. Children and teachers together write articles, then enter text in  Word , prepare the magazine for printing, decide which images to be in a magazine from a bunch of photos from various events. They are very active in all aspects of this work. And the magazine is also part of the project "Media Voices 4 Special Teens".

What are your plans for the period ahead?

I naravno, o svemu tome ćemo redovno da obaveštavamo, da apdejtujemo i ažuriramo naš blog "Media Voices 4 Special Teens".
In the following period, in agreement with ETS "Stari grad" we should have another workshop with them, because they want to be our host and to reciprocate the visit. Then, in March, we plan to visit our  partner in Romania, in Iasi. They were with us last week, a delegation from Romania was our guest. They were present at all of our events. We also plan, if we manage to do it, to organize a round table discussion with representatives of the media. It should be in February. And of course,on all our activities we will regularly inform you  and update our blog "Media Voices 4 Special Teens".

Iva Urdarević was with us today, a professor in the School for hearing impaired "Stefan  Decanski" We talked about this interesting blog and awarded projects. Thank you very much for coming.

Iva Urdarević: Hvala i vama.
Thank you.

TV STUDIO B - VIDEO (with transcript and translation to English)

From  TV Studio B we have  got a video that was recorded on 21 November 2012. - it was an announcement of  our project activities on the  aces project "Media Voices For Special Teens,"  live in  the morning program, " Belgrade, Good Morning". Thank you very much to Nebojsa Djurdjevic,      journalist of TV Studio B who provided this video for us!

TRANSCRIPT AND TRANSLATION TO ENGLISH:  (by Google)

Journalist (in the studio): Stay with us ... We should get out .Shall we? Or not? Now let's see ... Yes! Nebojsa is ready. He has a good story. In relation with what I just discussed with Davor that we should be good, especially when it comes to our actions -among the people with whom we live, and help those in need - like children who attend  one really special school - special in the sense that it does much for  their normal life and especially by teachers who are committed to them - in the heart of Belgrade. It is a school for hearing impaired children or children who do not hear at all. Nesha has a story - live. We're listening and watching ...
Nebojsha Djurdjevic(journalist):Yes, it is. Well, it's about how we relate to those who need help, but on the other hand - to accept them as equal, because, of course, they are also members of this society, as we all are. They have the qualities and faults, which they have, but we all have some qualities and faults. Here we are, at School "Stefan Decanski." School anniversary is close , so let's start with it... Next week is how many years?
Iva: Proslavlja se 115 godina Škole "Stefan Dečanski" svečanom akademijom u Domu sindikata, u četvrtak, 29. novembra.
Iva: We are celebrating 115 years  of the School "Stefan Decanski" with an academy in the House of Trade Unions, on Thursday, 29 November.
Nebojsha Djurdjevic(journalist): 115 years of tradition, the existence and working of the school, tells us that it has  great professional staff and the projects that you do are  recognized as something that is very well done ...
Iva:Pa, jeste. Škola učestvuje u nekim nacionalnim i medjunarodnim projektima.
Iva: Well, yes... The school participates in some national and international projects. We participate and have became a member of the Academy of Central European Schools or ACES, this year. In fact it is an initiative of Erste Foundation, which is coordinated  byInterkukturelles Zentrum in Vienna and VČELI DOM from Slovakia. Every year they make concours for applications for school projects that are done in cooperation between schools in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. The complete network consists of 15 countries. Since this year's  global theme was media, and how we perceive the world and create it using the media, we have written the project, in cooperation with the Romanian School - Special School "Constantin Paunescu" from the town of Iasi. The project is called "Media Voices for Special teens." In the framework of this project we want to increase knowledge and raise awareness of general public on children with special needs and their capabilities and potentials. Next Wednesday we are going to organize a presentation of the project and a creative workshop, where they will  make a variety of useful products, which we will later present at a selling exhibition, and consequently, our pupils will show what they can - or some of their  potentials and capabilities.
Nebojsha Djurdjevic(journalist):I've said it, in fact, that each one of us has its own qualities and faults - and they have their qualities. And  here we are - we will not tell that we break off classes, but we are disturbing a little your educational activities - we can see that they work with some  media ...
Iva: Jeste. Ovo su konkretno naši grafički dizajneri, naš četvrti stepen. Imamo i naš školski časopis.
Iva: Yes,they do.These are, actualy, our graphic designers, our fourth degree of secondary education.. We have our school magazines. It is our media - for parents, teachers and all our guests to whom it s distributed. We've also created a blog of our project, which is located on the Internet at aces128.blogspot.com, and is trilingual - in Serbian, Romanian and English language. So far, it has had, for example, over 1500 visit, which is, in only  two or three months a considerable success.
Nebojsha Djurdjevic(journalist): It's great. Natasha, as the president of the  Students 'parliament you have been in Slovenia as a representative of this project, so how it is there, how were you received and what are your impressions?
Natasha: Well, I was surprised because I was well received. We hung out  together and I've made some new friends.
Nebojsha Djurdjevic(journalist):Tell me which media are your favorites, which ones do you like the most?
Nataša: Pa, sad...
Natasha: Well,now...
Nebojša Djurdjević(novinar): Kakav je projekat, ti učestvuješ u projektu?
Nebojsha Djurdjevic(journalist): What does the project look like - you participate in the project?
Natasha:Yes, Project is super. I am satisfied with participating in it and with the fact that, although we are handicapped in some way, we can contribute to our society.
Nebojša Djurdjević(novinar):Ja ne vidim problem. Ti i ja komuniciramo odlično. A posebno kada bude 115 godina - nije mala stvar.
Nebojsha Djurdjevic(journalist): I do not see a problem. You and I communicate well. When you say you  are disabled or handicapped people always think something. Everyone has their faults, but we all have or qualities at the first place. And of course, we are herein  a few days again, so we'll see each other. And especially on the celebration of 115 years - it isn't a small thing.
Iva: Hvala vam. Naravno, pozvani ste...
Iva: Thank you. Of course, you are invited...
Studio...
Nebojsha Djurdjevic(journalist):Thank you. Well, you heard how it functiones just a small part of what is happening at school, "Stefan Decanski"that we were able to present.  I have previouslymentioned thhis school in the morning, when in fact I wanted to mention another school, but here we are finally in this school, and we will comemore often to visit it. Of course, there are many smart  children and it is our task to give them a chance to show what they know. Studio ...
Journalist (in the studio):You said it wisely. I have nothing to add, except to remember what you've said . Many thanks Nebojša.From the School "Stefan Decanski," in the center of Belgrade, a school for children with impaired hearing or completely deaf  our Nebojsa Djurdjevic was reporting. That was the last  live contribution for this morning, but also a motvation to reflect on the topic of how much opportunities we give our children  ...

Састави ученика o aces радионици / Students' composition about aces workshops

While prepairing the new issue of our school magazine "Razvitak" ("Development") , we've got two  compositions about the workshop "Together We Can Make A Difference"  - that we have organized as a part of the the aces project  "Media Voices For Special Teens". Here are these two compositions:

Little workshop for friends (by mediavoices)

My school  celebrates its 115th birthday this year . On that occasion  we have organized various events. One of these events was the creative workshop "Together we can overcome our differences."
On Wednesday, the twenty-eighth of November, the school was full with guests. Among the guests were our partners from Romania. They came to visit the school and see our classroms for  practice. They visited the carpentry, tailoring, baking, hairdressing and graphic studio. All cabinets are modern and well-equipped.
Bakery workshop has aroused really freat interest.. My friends -  future bakers and I have showed our guests a cabinet that is located on the ground floor in the school building. We tried to show them what we have learned in our  practical classes. We have also prepared a surprise for our guests - some sweets. We made some small cookies and served them to our guests who have praised us and said that we were the real masters.
This day will long remain in my memory. We had a lot of guests and it has been our pleasure to show how much we are skilled at making biscuits.
                                                                                                                 Danijela Vojnov II/3

Together We Can Overcome Our Differences    (by mediavoices)

Оn the twenty-eighth of November our school was full of guests who came to see what we do. There were our guests from Romania, as well as friends from Electrotechnical School "Stari grad".
The guests visited the printing, carpentry, tailoring and ceramic workshop, and then they came to see our bakery shop. We have already sprepared all the material. One student was the first to come to see what we do. His name is George. He is really good, he understood all gestures, helped us in preparing  cookies and learned something from us.
We made some small cakes. We first prepare dough from flour, egg, lemon, butter, flour and nuts. After  we left it to "rest" for about ten minuta. Then we have put it into the oven. Some journalists came to record how we work. When everybody have seen what we are doing, we got company - more friends and teachers have joined us.I liked one girl. Her name is Tatiana, She is good, nice and pretty. Teachers from Romania came to taste our cakes and  the school principal - she tasted cookies and talked with other teachers. A lot of students wanted to try the cake, we were not able  to bake enough.
We had very nice time - working and hanging out and joking with our guests. I hope our new friends willl come back for a visit. It would be really great!
