The National College "Sadoveanu" from Paşcani and Special Middle School "Constantin Păunescu" from Iaşi were awarded by the Academy of Central European Schools for their projects within the competition "Understanding Media".
This year, over 100 schools have registered to the Academy of Central European Schools and an international jury of experts awarded five most innovative projects.
The project of the National College “Sadoveanu” - "Growing up with cartoons" - focused on two objectives: to show the influence that the content of today's cartoon has on children and to create a link between past and present cartoons.
"Participating at the activities of the project was a great experience for both teachers and especially the students involved. It was a project made from our hearts, with dedication and we, as teachers, became more aware of the imagination, tolerance and understanding our young students. We also had the opportunity to work with young people from other countries, to see other civilizations, to understand other civilizations and these were the most important motivations for our students to continue to get involved in projects.", commented Mihaela Constantina Vătafu, project coordinator and teacher at the National College "Sadoveanu" in Paşcani.
The project "Media Voices 4 special teens" coordinated by Special Middle School "Constantin Paunescu" from Iaşi aims at raising the public attention to the specific problems of teens with special educational needs. The project aimed to demonstrate that young people with special needs can and should become active members of their communities and should not be regarded as people who need assistance.
"The implementation of this project gave me the opportunity to know my colleague teachers better and they proved to be very enthusiastic, affectionate and devoted to help children with special educational needs. I warmly thank to all those who made possible this enchanted place called acesLAND, I am grateful to them for the atmosphere and spirit of the place (that we tried to bring back tome with us in suitcases), for all the words of encouragement and the advice given, for the warmth we were received with and for all their patience and willingness! We expect and hope to go back there again! " said Elena Eigel, project coordinator and special education teacher at Special Middle School "Constantin Paunescu " from Iaşi.
Approximately 230 students and teachers, representatives of the Ministries of Education and education experts from 15 different countries gathered last week in Senec, Slovakia, for the closing ceremony of the Academy of Central European Schools, the 2012-2013 edition. Among them were representatives of the winning schools in Romania. During the meeting, school representatives presented the results of their projects with the theme "Understanding Media" and exchanged their experience with representatives of other participating schools.
Every year, within aces, there is a contest for school projects based on international partnerships. Romania is part of the international network of these schools since 2006. So far over 63 schools in Romania have successfully participated in these programmes.
The topic of the 2013-2014 cycle is "I and the others. Discovering diversity around and within me" and project proposals must be submitted by April 30. In today's society, diversity has changed from exception to norm: people from different ethnic groups, religions, ages, genders and sexual orientations coexist and should be treated equally. Schools, especially school projects as these, allow students to interact with people from different cultures and learn from each other. Thus, students begin to see the world with different eyes, which will generate critical thinking, greater openness and creativity - essential qualities for our world.
Academy of Central European Schools was initiated in 2006 by the Erste Foundation. The project is coordinated by VČELÍ DOM (Slovakia) and Interkulturelles Zentrum (Austria) and is supported by the Ministries of Education in all 15 participating countries. The main objective is to create conditions for intercultural dialogue and cooperation between students and to create a permanent network of common knowledge, methods of learning and innovation. Approximately 23,000 students and 3,000 teachers from 15 countries took part in the previous editions of aces contests.

TRANSCRIPT AND TRANSLATION TO ENGLISH:
School "Stefan Decanski," can serve as the pride of the Serbian education system, especially when it comes to the education of children with disabilities, evaluates school principal Leposava Petrovic.
- "We are following all the changes in education, participate in updating the curriculum with the team of professionals so that we are in some experimental programs. We have already become a resource center within DILS project of the Ministry of Education - School Model 1 for providing support to regular schools who educate children with hearing impairments. This means, changing the role of the school by adding a new dimension to the school - the school as a support of the mainstream education, which is now in trend and we are fully inclusive, not only in the last few years, but we're doing it the last 15 - 20 years. "
Parents are happy because, as they say, this school managed to provide and
ensure normal development of their children.
They want to send a message to those who are in doubt whether to send their children to this school - visit this facility and observe their work.
- "They should go there to see and to try ... I have had a barrier. Special school, it sounds horrible, but actually, it is really warm institution - that has no roof, no walls ... You can come and talk to teachers, the principal, special education teachers - to ask their opinion and get an advice. It is such a freedom, such a charm ...
I have
Ceremony began by intonation of the national anthem "God of Justice", and this celebration was
honored with the presence of
the First Lady of Serbia, Dragica Nikolic and Princess Katherine Karadjordjevic, who is, with her charity organization actively involved in raising awareness about the importance of the inclusion of children with disabilities in Serbia .

Once upon a time, in Somewhere Land, lived a cute little lamb who- as it happens to every child- headed cheerful and carefree to his teenage years.
And, like any teen, one day, our lamb -while joyful romp in the world of green pastures- he discovered a magnificent place that had hundreds or even thousands of gates. And behind every gate opened new worlds full of images, photos, information and -above all- beings of all sorts, willing to talk and make friends immediately with our lamb.
Little lamb did not stay too long on his thoughts and, willing to be able to get in touch with all these new friends, he logged-in. (Well, to succeed in that he had to lie a little, such as at the question about the age he actually had, but what matters such a small lie, if it helps you get into the miraculous world?)
Anxious to get online, little lamb diligently completed all required data and has posted the sharpest of his photos, because, isn't that, our little innocent lamb was still a good kid, despite what I wrote above in brackets!
Our Lamb has accepted all friend requests and, the more friends he got, the more he enjoyed it, because he thought that this is about to be cool.
Every teen wants to be cool.
He spent hours talking to his new friends, giving "likes", commenting, typing LOL's, even to the posts whose meaning was not able to find, but friends are friends and then- it's online!
The greatest joy he had especially when mingling with Lamb2, his best friend, who tought him most things about how to communicate online and show him a great friendship, although they were not seen ever!
I do not want to bore you, so I'll shorten the story.
Lamb2 proved to be a big bad wolf which was part of a network of big bad wolves. Together with them, the big bad wolf plotted some evil things, such as to sneak into the lamb's house to steal his laptop (a black day for poor lamb who cried, especially because he could not contact his friend Lamb2). Another day, big bad wolf called the lamb to meet. Our lamb -beating heart- raced with excitement and joy to the assigned place, but -strange coincidence- on the way he met some big bad wolves who stole his smartphone and did some other damages, from which our lamb was hospitalized several months and it was very difficult to recover. But most of all he felt hurt that his friend, Lamb 2, disappeared without a trace, although the lamb was looking for him online for days and nights.
Many years later, our lamb, who became young ram, reached his personal desires and managed to finish college with good grades and enrolled in a competitive hiring offer to a reputable firm. Although it was the best interview, he was not hired, as a ram- member of the recruitment comission, internet fan - made some online search and found evidence that the lamb had dubious friends in his youth, such as the big bad wolf.
I trust in you that you will extract the conclusion of this story by yourself.
But let me pestering you a little.
Each of us knows a lot, but do not know it all.
Not all know that in some coded language, snow diamonds and stars may be banned substances.
Not all know that the "forbidden love" is not necessarily a "Romeo and Juliet"drama situation.
We give ourselves importance by using what we've read or heard from others, without knowing the exact meaning of phrases. That can bring us at least embarrassing moments, if not dangerous situation! Who wants to come to this?
Not all know that every action that we do online risks can not be permanently deleted, whatever we try. If we are true friends and honest people, we take care not to put any others in danger, in the virtual world.
So, little lamb, R U online?
You are about to make a click?
R U sure about that???

No, dopustite mi da vam dosađujem još malo.
Niti svi znaju "Zabranjena ljubav" nije nužno "Romeo i Julija" dramska situaciju.
Ko to želi sebi?
Jesi li siguran u to??
